This BMW 320i was practically new when these photos were taken in January of 1978. Here's a textbook example of what happens when a fine German made automobile, traveling at close to 3 digit speeds, meets up with a large American made bridge abutment!

This is a bonus photo from November of 1974, depicting a very twisted BMW 2002tii, after an off-road excursion into a ravine. Not only is this an interesting wreck, it also shows the use of an ancient and all-but-forgotten towing accessory known as "Dolly Wheels".
